What is Brainspotting?
Brainspotting is an advanced brain-body therapy that allows the nervous system to reset by processing stuck or blocked connections throughout the body and subcortical region of the brain through eye positions. This focused mindfulness bypasses the cortical region, or adulting brain, allowing deep healing and connection to the body. “Where you look determines how you feel” was discovered by David Grand, who has spent his life being curious about the connection between the eyes, brain, and body. His willingness to explore, ask questions, and trust the human brain to heal itself has given a great deal of hope to humanity at a time when chronic pain and illness, as well as mental health crises, are at an all time high and climbing.
Brainspotting was found to be the most effective long-lasting treatment by the Sandy Hook Foundation, and is proving still to have far reaching effects. Whenever we have a problem, the solution that comes from within will stay, but when it comes from the external it will leave. This modality allows individuals to see their innermost selves, and lead. We have an innate ability to heal when provided resources and space to do so.
